About Ice House America
A different way to make ice.
A company built around it.
We’re engineers, manufacturers, operators, and support specialists. Since 2003, we’ve been bringing ice production closer to the people who need it.

Moultrie, Georgia · Where our story began
Our beginning
One question.
A new approach
to an everyday need.
Why make ice in one place, transport it to another, and store it until it’s needed?
Founded in Moultrie, Georgia, Ice House America brought production and dispensing together in an outdoor, automated system. Ice could be made right where it was sold, offering an alternative to the traditional packaged ice supply chain.
That practical idea became the foundation for a company whose work now spans equipment manufacturing, software, field support, and operating ice vending locations of our own.
Our journey
Built one milestone
at a time.
From our first machines to new ways of serving owners, customers, and businesses.
2003
It begins with The Ice House.
Founded in Moultrie, Georgia, IHA introduces its high-capacity flagship unit, The Ice House—bringing automated ice production and dispensing together on site.
2005
Showing up when communities need ice.
Following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, IHA and local machine owners contribute ice and equipment to relief efforts—putting the company’s work to use beyond everyday commerce.
2006
Our first convenience retail partnership.
Our first convenience retail partnership brings on-site ice production to a new business setting, marking an early step into convenience retail.
2008
The Ice House goes mobile.
IHA introduces a mobile unit, extending its approach to places where a permanent installation isn’t practical—from events and remote worksites to disaster response.
A towable platform combines ice production with generator integration and filtration, allowing equipment to travel to the point of need.
2011
Tuscaloosa tornado response.
Following the 2011 Tuscaloosa tornado, IHA mobilizes ice and water equipment to support affected communities, building on its experience in disaster relief.
2012
Owners get a clearer view.
As the network grows, SmartIce™ remote management connects operators with their machines—putting performance information and operating tools within reach from a distance.
2013
A network built around local ownership.
The Ice Born network launches, bringing independent owners a structured approach to marketing, branding, and field support.
2014
More possibilities in a smaller footprint.
The Ice Kiosk expands the equipment lineup, bringing automated ice production to locations with less available space.
A mid-capacity unit designed for high-traffic locations, with a footprint of less than 100 square feet.
2016–2018
New settings. New engineering challenges.
Work with Southwest Airlines illustrates a broader role for IHA equipment: supplying ice for business operations, beyond traditional customer vending. Custom employee badge access shows how our engineering team adapts equipment to the way a business works.
2019
Ice moves closer to the storefront.
The Ice Merchant extends the product family with a compact standalone option. Work with QuikTrip and The Inline Merchant brings ice production into the storefront itself.
The Ice Merchant uses a 24-square-foot standalone footprint. The Inline Merchant integrates into the building with a flush, ATM-style facade.
2020
The customer experience goes mobile.
ICE2U launches in June, helping customers find participating locations and purchase ice through their phones.
2021
Factory parts. A direct connection.
IHAParts Direct launches, connecting operators with replacement components and technical parts shipped from the Moultrie manufacturing hub.
2024
A new chapter with Fort Point Capital.
Fort Point Capital acquires IHA, supporting plans to grow the company-owned fleet and invest in sales, software, and aftermarket capabilities.
The company expands its focus on California and the Western U.S., bringing its automated platforms to more markets.
2024
Hurricane Helene response.
IHA supports response efforts following Hurricane Helene, continuing its commitment to helping communities in times of disruption.
2026
Penguin Service Plans Launch
Introduced Penguin Service Plans to give machine owners more options for ongoing maintenance and support.
2026
The next chapter starts inside the machine.
With FLOE and GLACIER, IHA brings industrial ice-maker design in-house—extending its engineering into the heart of the equipment.
FLOE
Up to 450 bags/day
GLACIER
Up to 650 bags/day
These proprietary ice makers replace reliance on third-party ice-maker suppliers, giving operators a single, unified factory warranty backed directly by IHA’s Moultrie facility. Production is shown as 10-lb bag equivalents and varies with configuration and operating conditions.
Part of our story / Community response
Everyday essentials.
Extraordinary moments.
After a storm, access to ice and water takes on a different meaning. Across our history, IHA and local owners have brought equipment and supplies to communities facing disruption.
From the Gulf Coast hurricanes to the Tuscaloosa tornado and Hurricane Helene, these efforts show another side of the organization: people using what they know and what they build to help others.

The organization today
We build it.
We operate it.
We stand behind it.
